Ronaldo statue revealed in Funchal, Madeira

On 21 December 2014, the day after winning the FIFA Club World Cup final with Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo visited his birth town Funchal in Madeira, Portugal, to unveil a life-size statue in tribute to him. BS Sports & Media was there to get a few pictures of the legend who just a few weeks later yet again was awarded the Ballon d’Or to symbolise his status as the World’s best footballer.

Not far from where the Ronaldo statue was erected, you also find the Ronaldo Museum where all of #CR7’s trophies are exhibited. I highly recommend paying both the island of Madeira and the Ronaldo Museum a visit for people who want to understand what exactly this legendary and hard-working footballer comes from – and how proud the locals are to have him represent their beautiful island all over the world.
